Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Parked outside the Minster to attract attention to the goings on in the church.
It did that very well, so many thanks to Nick Pointing for bringing it along.

Awareness Day 2016

Was held on Saturday 24th September between
10am and 4 pm
at the Minster Newport.

We were pleased to be able to hear from various speakers, who specialise in their fields. Louise Aitken told us all about the benefit of massage. Steph Toogood explained all about Hydro-Actif therapy. Dr Randall , GP gave a very interesting talk about diagnosing and treating MS from a GP's perspective, pointing out how difficult it is to diagnose MS with its many and various symptoms.
Dr Duffy, MS National Centre, updated us on the current research situation. I must say how good it was to hear just how much is being done to beat MS. The Island Continence Service were on hand to talk over any difficulties people have and a speaker helped us understand problems with skin & pressure sores.

There were representatives from many of the Island's bodies in place to offer help and care. Complimentary tea and coffee was served from the tea shop within the Minster. A collection at the door and collecting buckets alongside Chitty Chitty Bang Bang raised enough money to cover the cost of staging the awareness day. A big thank you to all the committee and volunteers who made the day such a success.
