|The branch has over 150 members throughout The Isle of Wight. We serve all people who have MS (regardless of membership), and those around them; family, carers and friends.|
MS Society and many volunteers have helped and supported
hundreds of people affected by the illness on the Isle of Wight.
The Multiple Sclerosis Society was first formed in London in 1953. In 1969 the Isle of Wight Branch had its inaugural meeting. In the years since then the branch has moved from strength to strength, providing many services for people affected by the illness.
The Charity is self funding and receives no financial assistance from NHS or the Isle of Wight Council. The society depends on fundraising, donations and monies left in legacies in order to continue the current services provided and hopefully expand new and innovative services.
Society charity shop in Shanklin help swell the funds as well as allowing
many people diagnosed with the condition another scorce of information.
