The Island Branch have introduced a scheme whereby people diagnosed with MS can obtain various therapies paid for by the branch.
Here's how the scheme works.
If you have been diagnosed with MS you can apply for Therapy Vouchers. The first thing to do is to apply to Kathy Lakin , either by post or email.
You will then be sent a letter on which a record of treatments you have had will be kept. (The voucher).
The voucher has an initial value of £150. Each time you have a treatment you present the 'voucher' to the therapist and they record the type of treatment, the date and the cost. This will be your record of how much 'credit' is left on your voucher.
You will also receive a document that the therapist tears a slip from to send the committee to receive their payment.
It sounds much more complicated than it actually is - give it a try to find out!
Once you have received your voucher, it is up to you to choose just what treatment you want and will be of most benefit to you. You then choose from the list of approved therapists, choose your treatment and make an appointment.
Vouchers cannot be used for any other services and, if not used within the dates specified will no longer be valid. Any credit left on the voucher cannot therefore be carried over.
The branch reserve the right to withdraw the scheme at any time or alter the value of such vouchers. However, whilst it is in force, will renew the vouchers to the value of £150 every six months.
Any decisions regarding the scheme remain at the desecration of the committee.
If you find a treatment or therapy that suits you and is not included on the list, please contact the committee and we will try to include it. It has to be an approved and suitable treatment and we rely on the therapist agreeing to use the scheme.
If you have
any questions or you require further information about the scheme, please
contact Kathy. If you have any questions about the different treatments,
please contact the therapy practice.
